Why this Forum Exists

I created this site as a place to track and discuss activities by the Aspen Brook HOA. It is meant to be informative for other owners, helpful for me to stay organized, and hopefully motivating for the Board to be good stewards of our resources and trust.
In a nutshell, I am concerned about some recent behavior of our HOA. In 2025, I have seen the Aspen Brook HOA Board disregard governance policies and Colorado law. Examples include conflicts of interest, misrepresentation of information, failure to follow its own dispute resolution policy, hiding Board votes in violation of transparency obligations, and personal attacks against homeowners during Board meetings (multiple times).
As a specific example, since the beginning of the year, I have been trying to inform the Board about an apparent conflict of interest. I am concerned that a Board member is using the HOA to mislead homeowners to advance a personal agenda. Regardless of whether I'm right, the Board has refused to hear me. Ironically, the Board member with the conflict has been pushing other Board members not to consider it, and that same Board member has directed the HOA to spend about thousands in legal fees (I don't know the exact amount), just to avoid the conversation. That isn't exactly reassuring, and it's not a good use of our assessment fees.
I initially created this forum as a private tool for myself to organize my concerns. However, it became clear to me that making information accessible to other homeowners would serve the broader community’s interests. Accordingly, I established a public section of the forum to provide neighbors with greater visibility into the conduct of the Board, and their mounting legal costs.
Thanks in advance for reading and please reach out to me if you have comments or questions or if you'd like to contribute your experiences.
