Stewardship of Funds

Post by dparcher »

To date in 2025, the Board has spent thousands in legal fees (currently projected at over $15k for the year according to the annual meeting proposed budget). I don't have the breakdown of this, but a lot of this was spent to avoid sending one truthful email. That's not an exaggeration.

In May 2025, I, and other concerned homeowners, asked the Board to send this truthful statement (either in email or in minutes) to the community:
During the February board meeting, the Board incorrectly stated that we see a correlation between one night rentals and transient rule violations. The board is not in possession of any evidence that one-night rentals result in rule violations. We apologize for confusion on this issue.
That's it! That's all we wanted them to send - and HOA records show this statement is correct. This would have cleared up the mis-statements in February, and simultaneously reduced my concern that those statements were being intentionally spread due to a Board member's personal vendetta. But instead of sending that one email, the conflicted Board member participated in chartering a pre-litigation committee, engaging an attorney, and spending thousands of dollars.

They could have just sent the email. Spending thousands to avoid sending one email doesn't make sense to me without a deeper motive.
